The Hikes the Thing!

Sedona is a Me Sedona, AZ Sedona Accomodations, Hiking in Sedona, Sedona Hikescca for the outdoor enthusiast, and in March the desert is in bloom.
The weather in early spring is perfect for hiking…not too hot, not too cold. With Sedona’s hundreds of trails climbing up and over the beautiful red rocks, hiking is sure to be an activity you don’t want to miss while you visit the Sedona Real Inn & Suites. Our concierge team has trail maps and red rock passes available for purchase. They know the best hikes to get you on your way.

There are several trails just a short drive from our doorstep that we would like to recommend to you. One trail you will not want to miss is the Devil’s Bridge. This natural arch rock formation is only minutes from our inn. The trail forks. In one direction you will climb up a rock stair case to an awesome view of the canyon below. Stop and soak in the beauty of Sedona. Behind you will be more red rock stairs. Follow these and you will reach the top of the arch. The arch is a good size and you can walk out onto the bridge. If you bare left at the fork you will find yourself beneath the arch. This view is fascinating as well. In forty-five minutes you will have climbed 400 feet to reach your destination.

Another trailhead not too far from us is Boynton Canyon, where you will find one of the vortexes of Sedona. This hike takes you past the Enchantment resort and into a box canyon where you are surrounded on all sided by red rocks. If you look closely you will even be able to see Sinaguan ruins from the trail. Kacina Woman, one of the rock formations easily accessible from the trail, is supposed to hold powers of fertility.

The drive through Oak Creek Canyon is one of Sedona, AZ, Sedona Accomodations, Sedona Hiking, Hike in Sedonathe top ten most beautiful drives in the country and will take you to West Fork, one of the top ten hikes in the country. This trail criss-crosses over Oak Creek, which is great for cooling off in the summer. It is also one of the few shaded trails in the area. As West Fork is located further north of Sedona it is peppered with aspen trees and in the fall there is beautiful color in the canyon. Another highlight of this hike is the curved walls of the canyon. Over time erosion has caused beautiful curves to form in the rock walls, a sight only truly appreciated when you are standing in the shadow of the red rocks.

Let the Sedona Real Inn and Suites help plan your hiking adventure. We can set you up with a guided hiking tour or with a map so you can lead yourself on your next outdoor adventure!
